Each search engines have different algorithum. Google rely heavily on anchor text maching and external links. Where as Yahoo rely on anchor text mainly. So as long as the search engines don't follow the same algorithum we cannot expect the same reult in all search engines.

Each and every search engine has it's own algorithm. Based on this algorithm results for a search query is displayed in SERP (search engine result pages). This algorithm is modified at regular intervals to give up better result for user's search query .

The one common thing that all the search engines follows for displaying results is link to an anchor text (where anchor text is the keyword).

The other considerations like
1. Quality of the website where we get link i.e. thematic or non thematic website.
2. Page rank for the page where the link is placed
3. Total no. of links present in that page

and some more other are also there.

Until all the search engines follows the same algorithm the search results will vary from one search engine to other.

because all search engines are using different databases from where they are showing us SERP list.

see this link http://www.search-this.com/search-engine-decoder/ and click on any search engine symbol, it will show you that from where it is displaying data.

You will have one question that if all are using different database than how some data are same, because all are sharing some data at the end.

Study the chart carefully. It will help you.
