Does Google tell you that it's still crawling or not? Check it at http://www.google.com/webmasters/

If there is a problem crawling your site, they tell you what the problem is there.

When chosing between consistency and availability, you want to be consistent. You shouldn't have two servers claiming to be masters. Generally, the full schema is understood by few people.

Very intersting thread! as always good info here!

What about Yahoo and MSN?

Because is often believed that you have nothing to do with them....Is there any special procedure for other SE's?

Thanks
