i want to buy domains like organicdogtreat.com, tastydogtreats.com, etc (all taken) and build up my rank score, actually i just want people to buy, cuz they are good produts...should I have hosting for each domain name with the same layout of my current website and then submit them to directories, google (adwords) etc. or is this going to create a conflic of some type? |

Hiya,
heres an idea, I assume you are in the USA, why dont you buy sites that have different states in the name like...hmmm "mypetsloveitonlinein LA" or whatever, it makes it sound more local etc, its the same store front etc just a different name, you could go with the other names as well, however its good to localise it abit, maybe try it and see what happens... then get some videos up on youtube and your website showing that yourpetsdoloveitonline. Video of animals very powerful. For more great ideas, skype me or call me. skype:gailbott Gail www.gailbottomley.com |

Buying new sites and linking them will not improve the ranking on your site. You are going to have to look into Google PageRank (Google PR)
Basically, you have to get a company / web specialist to create a linking strategy for you. Your PageRank is 0 at the moment. You can download a Google toolbar from their site that give you the PR or each site you are on. You will also have to look at Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) - so I would rather direct money there instead of registering other domains. |

you have to build each domain
seperately and host it with a differnt webhoster and make each have great content at least 5 pages each domain different and then have a link from each domain to your main domain greetings Frank |

If you own a web site and you have multiple domain names registered, you might want to read this with your full attention.
There are a great many web sites out there which, by inappropriate use of multiple domain names, effectively cripple their search engine rankings by blatantly breaching search engine guidelines!Site owners often register more than one domain, and there are sound reasons for doing this, including; The main URL includes a keyword phrase but is too long to type quickly, so a shorter, cryptic one is utilised and maybe is also used on business cards and letter heads. You take various versions of domains to prevent competitors from grabbing them dot.com, dot.co.nz, dot.biz, dot.info etc, and point them all to the "main" site. You take various country versions - dot.co.nz, dot.com.au, dot.co.uk because you are going to expand into those markets - but in the interim you point them all to the "main" site. |

This is a great question I never thought to ask. Early on, we realized that people were not really always looking for us using our "proper name". For example, our REAL name is
"The Store Name" but we found many people were dropping the "The" from our name, and just looking for "Store Name". I found out when an advertiser called me and wanted us to list our store in their "yellow pages". She kept calling us "Store Name" even AFTER I corrected her. Bottom line, I went right out and registered another domain so we have both "www.thestorename.com" and "www.storename.com" I cannot say for SURE, but I can't see that having the two causes us problems. We only ever advertise or give out our full company name and full original domain name. I found, however, that teoma (sp) and one other search actually listed "www.storename.com" but never did show "www.thestorename.com" when I did a search using key words we strive for. Our registered corporate name with the state is "The Store Name" as well, our lawyer said we needed to stick to using that in all ads, etc. for safety. I have found in the logs that a few people actually do reach us using the shortened version of our name. It all points to the EXACT same server, IP, directory on the server, files, etc. NO difference at all. |
