What is the average amount that someone makes a month using ChaCha? How can I convince my mom that it's safe?
Folks, ChaCha is an site where you can go to have your internet searches done by a real human person. A couple of years ago they got a lot of publicity because they were hiring work-at-home people to sit at their computers and help out info-searchers.
In the beginning the ChaCha searcher got 6 cents a "search minute". They had 10 minutes to complete the search, and were not paid if it took over that time period. Not very good wages, but if you were a stay-at-home mom looking for some gas money, it wasn't bad. If you worked at it for 12 hours a day you could make $250 a week.
Then ChaCha got greedy.....and limited their search time to 6 minutes. Then they decided that if you spent time on a search and couldn't locate the results and transfer the user to another guide, you will NOT be paid for your work.
As time progressed the users saw that ChaCha wasn't worth the effort and the amount of work dropped. Most guides only got 1-2 searches every hour. You could sit at your computer all day long and be lucky to make $2.
At this time ChaCha is a total joke! Just be totally aware of this if you wish to be a ChaCha guide....there is not a lot of money to be made.
That said...yes they are a legitimate company and your SS# is secure. You are considered a 1099 contractor and your wages must be reported to the government, thus the need for your SS#.
